A shawl version of my most loved scarf. Its 82” X 37” and took more than 1 pound and a half of hand spun yarn. Soft merino, local canadian fleece (the blue and the purple 2 ply), tencel, sea cell, curls, angelina sparkles silk ribbons. All made from scratch, I dye my fibre and card my batts and spin my yarn. I also made the triangle loom. No commercially dyed roving in my studio. Large safety pin included to attach the shawl.

HOW MANY SKEINS?
1 skeins: mittens wrists, accents in a hat, or in weaving, needle and wet felting
2 skeins: beanie hat, texture in a knitted scarf, cowl, neck warmer
3 skeins: short knitted or woven scarf (loose)
4 skeins: long woven scarf (woven loose), knitted scarf, small woven triangular shawl, knitted shawl
5 skeins: medium woven triangular scarf, medium woven triangular shawl
6-9 skeins: medium large triangular woven shawl, knitted shawl
9 skeins and up: small medium sweater
TIPS
Alternate rows of heavy textured art yarns with single or smoother yarns, it will keep the work lighter and showcase the texture contrasts
NEEDLES
I use Prym circular needles, because they have a special tip shape helping pick up stitches of art yarns. I also use Prym ergonomic hooks, they are amazing.
